We know that you all have a good sense of humour and that’s why we launched the fictional payroll software, IRIS Playroll on April 1st. 

We haven’t yet integrated motions sensing technology into IRIS Payroll Software but perhaps one day we will. The truth is though that IRIS Payroll software is very intuitive and a lot of clever functionality that you saw on the IRIS Playroll video actually already exists in our software. If you make a mistake when running your payroll you can roll back and remove the error. We do also have a very knowledgeable support team that are on hand to help over the phone answer any questions you have. 

There is a payroll software for you. 

The timing of the tax year has its origin in the switch from the old Julian calendar to the more accurate Gregorian calendar in September 1752. At the time of the change it was calculated that the Julian calendar had lost 11 days since its introduction in 46 BC.

To catch up those 11 days, 2 September was followed by 14 September. Rather than lose 11 days' tax revenue in that tax year, the authorities tacked the missing days on at the end, which meant moving the beginning of the tax year from 25 March, Lady Day, to 6 April.
